BriaI’m not trying to be Bessie Stringfield but I’m gone learn how to ride a bike (i.e, motorcycle). Perhaps it’s bcuz I’m turning 40 next month, or maybe it’s bcuz my children are young adults-and depend on me less, or maybe it’s bcuz I want to conquer an old fear (of being vulnerable on a motorcycle)…shoot, maybe it’s a combo of all of the above-but one thing’s for certain:
I’m gone learn how to ride a motorcycle!!
***Bessie Stringfield made 8 long-distance, solo trips across the U.S.A. in the 1930’s & ’40’s… do you know how dangerous that was for a woman, let alone a BLACK WOMAN?! Bessie was truly a “G.”***
As a matter of fact, although I was shaking, I called this morning and registered for my Motorcycle Endorsement class! Class starts on May 2nd!! Oh my goodness, i’m excited! Of course I’ll keep you all posted!!

I hope to be like Kia (below) from Get Your Own Bike, and purchase my own bike! The caveat is, in Michigan you can only ride maybe 3 mos out of the year due to the weather
